Chassis Unlimited has designed these rear bumpers to be 3 piece modular: Meaning no span of the bumper is larger than a few feet, allowing the bumper to be completely internally strengthened, unlike typical 1 pc "Shell" Style bumpers. United StatesFirst of all the bumper is great. I really do like it. But 3 stars for shipping damage to powder coat, mounting brackets that are lighter duty than factory mounting brackets, and missing items in the box. First - the instructions aren't awful, but without pictures its not descriptive enough to tell you how the mounting brackets should be installed. The rest is pretty intuitive, but the instructions don't tell you to remove both of the factory brackets and then where to install the new brackets. Britny in customer support was very responsive and helpful, and got me sorted out quickly. The bumper is heavy duty, and its relatively easy to assemble. The bumper is in three pieces and there are 4 bolt holes that line up where each side mounts to the center. This part was simple. I mounted the brackets loosely on the truck frame, then put the assembled bumper on the brackets and bolted them in. From there I used 2 floor jacks, one on each end, with some wood between the bumper and jack to level it all up and tighten everything. This took a while to get just right but wasn't too difficult. The powder coat on the 1" stubs that stick out was worn off during shipping, Britny sent me a touchup kit to fix it. Not a big deal, but just something to note. I think with a bumper this heavy its hard to ship it without getting a little rub spot, but the rest of the bumper was pristine. The bumper did not come with the promised license plate lights, but Britny had them sent right away, I received them a few days later. These lights are actually the screws that hold the license plate in. I like the design, but I had to make a Home Depot run to get the right size bolts to mount my license plate because the lights weren't in the box. You do have to wire the lights in to the old license plate light harness, but its a pretty straightforward job to splice them into the old wiring. The mounting brackets are pretty wimpy compared to the factory mounting brackets. In my mind I wanted a beefier bumper, so it should come with beefier brackets. Not the case. The mounting brackets are bad enough that I am going to take my bumper off and drill out the existing bracket to fit the factory hardware (larger bolts that are grade 10.9 not grade 8) and then weld on another tab on the brackets to use the frame bolt mounted directly to the top of the frame (also a grade 10.9 bolt). I would be afraid to actually use the shackle mounts on the back of the bumper the way it is. I don't think the bumper would bend, but the brackets would and it could cause the bumper to hit the bed or tailgate of the truck. Anyway I really like the bumper, it looks great and once the brackets are upgraded and pics are sent with the instructions I would highly recommend.
